Mumbai, Jul 31: A bag containing jewellery and documents belonging to Moodushedde Vishwanath Shetty, proprietor of Hotel Saiprasad Fine Dine family restaurant in Bhivandi, former executive president of Bantara Sangha Mumbai Bhivandi regional committee and executive president of Mookambika Devi temple, Thane, Kalyan was stolen.
Vishwanath Shetty was travelling to Mumbai by SRS Travels bus from PVS circle, Mangaluru on Monday July 30. He got down from the bus for meals near Yellapur. After boarding the bus once again he slept. It was when the bus reached his destination at Vashi that he realised that the bag kept on the seat was missing. The bag had Kariyamani gold chain given by his wife for repairs in Mangaluru, gold ornaments and documents relating to his land. He immediately brought the matter to the notice of the bus driver Sesappa. He tried to collect details and lodged a police complaint at Vashi police station.


The bus conductor said that two passengers destined for Mira road had got down from the bus at Panvel. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
