Mumbai, Jul 16: “Scholarships are not for poor people alone. They are an encouragement from the community organization. Therefore, its beneficiaries should give up thinking that it is below their prestige to receive them. I studied with a scholarship of Rs 100. That amount was sufficient for our childhood and student life. Getting scholarship was a matter of pride. It is unfortunate that the generation today is ashamed to receive scholarships. There are people who give but very few to receive now. Thiya Samaja should free itself from such niggling thoughts,” said Thiya Samaja Mumbai president Chandrashekar R Belchada.
He addressed the gathering after presiding over the programme of distributing annual scholarships for 2018 held at Ankur Nursery auditorium, Pantnagar, Ghatkopar east on Sunday evening July 15. Member of the board of trustees, T Babu Bangera lit the lamp and set the programme in motion.

Vice president of the Samaja, Sudhaker Uchil, honorary treasurer Ramesh N Ullal, health fund president Divya R Kotian and scholarship sponsor Sunder Ail, Vrinda Dinesh, Ujwala Chandrashekar, Mohan B M, Chnadra M Suvarna, Divija Chandrashekar, Kavitha Belchada and others distributed scholarships and congratulated the students.
