Mangaluru: Man from Tamil Nadu murdered at Padil, one arrested

Mangaluru, Mar 3: A man was allegedly murdered near Padil underbridge here, late night on Friday, March 2.

The deceased has been identified as Selvamani (38) from Tamil Nadu.

Hours after the murder, Kankanady police arrested Petrol Suresh (49), who is said to have confessed to the crime.

 

According to police sources, Selvamani had come from Tamil Nadu to deliver some goods in Karnataka. Selvamani and Suresh were having their dinner late night on Friday when they had an argument over some personal issue. In a fit of rage, Suresh grabbed a screw-driver and allegedly stabbed Selvamani in the stomach.

Selvamani who was rushed to a nearby hospital succumbed to injuries.

Truck drivers who had gathered at the spot were also taken into custody by the police for questioning.

Kankanady police have registered a case and investigations are on.
