Bengaluru, Feb 6: Encouraged by the resounding success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in the capital city on Sunday, BJP leaders in the state are mulling about a plan to arrange three more rallies with the participation of Modi in the state before the Assembly election dates are announced officially.

The Central Election Commission is expected to announce the date of election by the end of March. Therefore, the present plan is to hold a rally on behalf of the party during February, followed by two more public meetings during March. The core committee of BJP has taken this decision, it has been informed.

The state leaders are upbeat about the aggressive address delivered by Modi at the valedictory of Parivartana Yatra organized by state BJP at palace ground here on Sunday. The fact that the address by Modi has kicked up lot of interest and has come in for active scrutiny of the political circles here and also the tremendous success of the programme have added to the enthusiasm of the BJP leaders. These aspects have made them to think of bringing the Prime Minister to the state again.

State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa, union ministers Ananth Kumar and D V Sadananda Gowda, leader of the opposition in the Assembly Jagadish Shettar, K S Eshwarappa, state BJP general secretaries C T Ravi, Arvind Limbavali and R Ashok, as well as others held the meeting. They have been keeping in touch with each other about programmes which may be arranged by the party in the state till March 15 to brighten the prospects of the party.

Public meetings with the participation of Modi are planned to be held at either Kalaburagi or Raichur. The other cities being considered for the purpose are Mysuru, Vijayapura, and Davanagere. Depending upon the availability of the Prime Minister, dates would be fixed.

National president of BJP Amit Shah will be holding organizational meetings on February 19 and 20 relating to the election.
