Mangalore, Jul 23: Dakshina Kannada unit of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike staged a protest in front of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) demanding the restriction on movement of the ore-laden trucks in the city on Wednesday July 23.

Activists of the Vedike voiced their concern against the illegal plying of the ore-laden trucks and the inconveniences they are causing to the people. The Vedike groused that the authorities concerned are not responding even after personal meetings and requests.

In the official request made to the District Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao, the protestors demanded that the trucks shall be ordered not to ply during day-time. They also complained that most of these trucks do not possess registration numbers.

In the already struggling vehicular movement in the Kulur-Suratkal stretch, these ore-laden trucks have made things worse, thereby arousing stiff protests from a major chunk of the city populace.

Dear Freinds, Protesting against these trucks is absolutely useless. Instead protest against removal of the Reddy Brothers and Sriramulu. As long as these guys are ministers, even the Chief Minister cannot help you!!
