Ganguly Threatens to Stop Playing for Bengal

Kolkata, Jul 10: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has threatened to stop playing for Bengal if some Cricket Association of Bengal members continue to create problems for his family.

"Some CAB members are creating problems for my family and if these continue I may consider stopping to play for Bengal," Ganguly said at a press conference in Kolkata on Thursday.

He denied any fall-out with former CAB and Board of Control for Cricket in India chief Jagmohan Dalmiya, who is fighting for the CAB presidentship this time.

"I don't have any problem with Dalmiya. My only concern is the problem to my family because of some CAB members," he said.

The elegant left-hander, who did not find a place among the Champions Trophy probables, also reckoned that India's ODI captain M S Dhoni must have "felt fatigued" after playing non-stop cricket for the past year.

Ganguly described Dhoni's decision to skip the Sri Lanka tour later this month, citing exhaustion, as his "personal decision" which should be respected.

"It is absolutely up to him (Dhoni) how much he wants to play. It is his personal decision (to rest) and we have to respect that. He must have felt fatigued after playing so much cricket for the past one year," he added.
