Udupi: NAAC Accreditation Workshop held at Milagres College

Udupi, Jul 3: Dr Joseph Gonsalves, principal of St Joseph Engineering College,   inaugurated the NAAC accreditation workshop at Milagres College, Kallianpur, on Wednesday, July 2.

The two-day workshop has been organized for the colleges of Udupi district by the internal quality assurance cell of Milagres College in association with S M S College, Brahmavar. Sixteen colleges are participating in the programme.

Dr Gonsalves said that the accreditation process had helped improve the quality of education in colleges. NAAC advisor and former vice-chancellor of SNDT women’s university, Mumbai, Dr Mariamma Varghese, and Dr Shakuntala Katre, former dean and senior professor of Bangalore University, were the resource persons.

Principal of Milagres College, Fr Fred Mascarenhas, presided over the function while correspondent V Rev Fr Marcel Saldanha, blessed the workshop. Prof K Narayan, principal of SMS College, was the guest of honour.

Dr Gerald Pinto, programme co-ordinator, introduced the guest and welcomed the gathering. Prof H V Somayaji, proposed the vote of thanks while Prof Vincent Alva compered.
