Mangalore: Hundredth Show of 'Pilipatthi Gadas' on June 19

Mangalore, Jun 14: A treat is in store for lovers of Tulu drama as Namma Tuluver Kayla Sanghatane gets all ready to stage the 100th show of popular Tulu drama 'Pilipatthi Gadas' at MGM College here on Sunday June 15.

The Sanghatane will organize a day-long programme to mark the occasion. While the show will be staged in the evening, there will be a seminar and a stage programme which will be presided over by Na Damodar Shetty. The seminar will be inaugurated by Amritha Someshwar.

An interactive session with the writer of the drama D K Chowta will also be held. Muddu Moodubelle will present a paper on 'Tulu Theatre - Then and Now' while I K Boluvar will speak on 'Modern Tulu Theatre.'

There will be a discussion on 'Tulu Theatre Towards Commercialization' in which various Tulu theatre personalities and intellectuals will participate.

Later in the day, National School of Drama, Bangalore director Suresh Anagalli will release Chowta's new Tulu dramas. Chowta will be felicitated on the occasion with the title 'Toulava Siri'.

The chief guests will be theatre critic Gudihalli Nagaraj and well-known theatre personality Nanjunda Swamy Thottawadi.
