Mangalore: 'Third Front Likely to Play Decisive Role after Polls'

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SMK)

Mangalore May 10: "In the present political scenario, it is evident that no party will get clear majority after the impending assembly election which would make way for 'Third Front' to emerge in order to play a decisive role in the pro people developmental works", said H V Ananta Subbarao, CPI state treasurer.

He was addressing  media persons at a press conference held in the press club here on Friday May 9.

Subbarao stressed that the left parties in the state had been working in the interest of common people, outside the legislature.  However, it has joined hands with Karnataka Sarvodaya Party, All India Forward Block, Republican Party of India, CPI, CPI (M) and SP, all like minded parties, to stage a  struggle for public cause inside the state assembly with people's support.

He alleged that both Congress and BJP have no principles to follow which are gripping under the strong clutches of land and mine mafia.

In the Dakshina Kannada district left party candidates are contesting from Mangalore South, Mangalore and Bantwal who were well accepted by the voters during the poll campaigns, said Sanjeeva, CPI district secretary.

Chengappa, SP district president said that the main motto of forming  the 'Third Front' will be to fight against the communal forces.

Satish Kumar, B Madava and other were present on the occasion.
