M'lore: Town Hall to Resonate with Classical Music on May 11

Mangalore, May 7: Mani Krishnaswami Academy will organize an audio-visual documentation of violin concert by Vittal Ramamurthy and Padma Shanker at Town Hall here on Sunday May 11, informed Nityananda Rao of the academy.

Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday May 6, Rao said that the programme will be presided over by noted saxophone artiste Kadri Gopalnath and blessed by Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math.

The performing artistes will be accompanied by S Karthik on ghatam, Nevyeli Narayan on mridangam and Thanmayee and Chinmayee on tambura.

Also, the academy in association with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan will organize Carnatic classical music competition on Saturday May 10 while on May 11 afternoon there will be an interactive session with the parents of Vittal Ramamurthy at Sharada Vidyalaya.

At 4 pm on May 11 the academy will organize a classical music concert featuring Sai Narasimhan, Venugopal Shanbagh, S Karthik on ghatam and Nevyeli Narayan on mridangam.

There will be a workshop on classical music from Monday May 12 to Thursday May 15 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan for which the resource persons will be Sai Narasimhan and Prarthana Sai Narasimhan, informed Rao.
