Cricket: Bhajj's Slap Costliest Ever - Worth Rs 2.6 Crore!

Sports Correspondent
Daijworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Apr 30: This is not a joke, but fact. The question may come in any of the quiz competitions in the near future. What is the costliest slap in the world? Yes, it's Bhajji's slap to Sreesanth. It cost Harbhajan Singh a whipping Rs 2. 6 crore!

Mukesh Ambani group, the franchise group of Mumbai Indians team bought Harbhajan for Rs 3.4 crore. But Bhajji played only three matches, out of which he had to pay penalty of full match fee (about 25 lac). He has been banned from playing 11 matches, which means his income from three matches is around Rs 50 lac and loss is about Rs 2.62 crore just for one slap!

Media in India call it as the costliest slap in the world, and it is a world record too. It is interesting to see whether Guinness Book of World Records or atleast Limca Book of Records will include him in their pages.

Bhajji will surely regret what he has done to Sreesanth, and cricket lovers, specially Bhajji fans can now expect decent behaviour from him on and off the field, hopefully!

Bhajji took the sympathy of the BCCI and all his team mates for granted. He thought so that he would again fool the entire nation of his stupid act on the field. On the other hand Sreesanth the Cry Baby of Indian Cricket is no Saint, to his act when he is on the 22 yard strip. BCCI must for that matter have a closed door session and warn the two that this act is not only bad for their carrier, but also a bad example to the youngsters watching the game and the Nation on the world map.3 crore is no big issue to our boys today, the very fact he cannot complete IPL season and its a shame for the Gentlemans game of Cricket.

it is a good decision to ban Bhajji. at the same time it is important to bring sreesant on the ground.  His body language is not upto the mark. He should undergo sportsmanspirit course which may take him to greater hights.

Sreesanth should have been banned for five matches atleast, why every time the senior players are blamed, junior players should understand that it is the senior players who are the pillars of yesterdays cricket. Sreesanth you also learn a lesson, and request you to respect them see the outcome of your comment.

I am glad to know the outcome for Bhajji. At the same time, I think even Srisanth should be banned playing from some matches. He is a very short tempered guy, he should learn to behave himself on the field. I would also like to stress that these cricketers have been given too much liberty, they play for their pockets and not for the country. They should also be banned from doing commercial ads and only concentrate on cricket.

They know for sure, whether they play or not, they get the money and the BCCI should be very strict with them. There are so many other sports, but they have never been bought to the limelight, but cricket is blown so much where they dont deserve really except for a few players i must say e.g Dravid, Dhoni, they are real genine players. Our Indian team is fatted and my major point to the BCCI is if a player plays in a team and if he does not play well, he should not be paid and if they want the money, we want the results too. This should be put into their heads.

Bhajji deserves this. At the same time even Srisanth should be penalised, for teasing Bhajji as there is no smoke without fire. It was he who instigated Bhajji. Srisanth is also known for his childish behaviour. I think he should be also banned from atleast some matches so that he too learns the ettiquettes of how to behave himself.

Nobody knows how many young Cricket Talents wasted without coming to light in India because of BCCI's ion policies all these years. Now with IPL there is more demand for good players and obviously new talents will get their share of success. IPL is good for Cricket in India.

Cricket was a Gentleman's Game upto to the Era of Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev. In a team of 11 Members all were disciplined players. The Idea of Making Money from Cricket started with Azharuddin who sold a match to fill his pocket and the spectators who paid their hard earned money to watch a match were fooled and conned. Therafter in the present generation came Aggression and Sledging with Crickters like Bhajji and Sreesanth.

Both of them are not worth a Rupee and the media has made heroes out of these cricketers. In fact there is nothing to talk about Sreesanth's Achievement in bowling besides his erratic behaviour. Bhajji was let loose on many occasions and he thought he could always get away.

He should be banned for minimum 3 Years. If a Sportsman can be banned for life for taking drugs then a Sportsman should also be banned for a minimum 3 years for Indiscipline. In Short THE PRESENT CRICKETERS ARE NOT WORTH THESE CRORES OF RUPEES.
