Mangalore, Apr 19: The Lamp lighting,  and oath taking and graduation ceremony of Karavali College of nursing was held at the college premises in Kottara on Saturday, April 19 evening. Dr J Prabhudev, district surgeon and superintendent  of Wenlock District Hospital was the chief guest of the occasion. Addressing the freshers he said, “whether you have joined this course with a certain goal or uncertainty,  you have selected a good future. This is the profession which gives you peace of mind and job satisfaction,” he opined.

 

“The aim of every student should not be just passing the exams, but learn to treat the patient as his own brother or sister. Every student must  keep mind the oath which is taken by them”  he said. Directing his speech to the graduates, he said  pay scales of the nurses is less in India when compared to other countries. But he went on to say that it is better to serve in India itself to have mental peace and satisfaction.



S Ganesh Rao, chairman of Karavali Group of Colleges, presided over the function. Sr Jacintha D’Souza, principal of Fr Muller College of Nursing and Latha G Rao, director of Karavali Nursing College were present on the dais.

Stella Sagaya Mary, principal of the college, welcomed the gathering and officiated the oath taking ceremony.
