Mangaluru: SIT hosts state-level engineering student project exhibition


Mangaluru, May 25: The state level 40th series of engineering student project exhibition was held at Srinivas Institute of Technology, here on Wednesday, May 24. The exhibition was organised by 'Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology' and Srinivas Institute of Technology was chosen as a nodal centre for the second time.

Dr S G Sreekanteswara Swamy, executive director KSCST Bengaluru was the chief guest of inaugural function and Venkatesh K N co-ordinator of KSCST was the guest of honour. The programme was presided over by Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. Dr C G Ramachandra, professor and head of Marine and Mechanical Engineering was the student project programme coordinator of the event.



Dr S G Sreekanteswara Swamy in his inaugural address thanked the Srinivas Institute of Technology, the management, and A Shama Rao Foundation, for providing the college as a nodal centre to exhibit the KSCST sponsored project. Dr Swamy also said that the innovative projects of various colleges were identified by various experts from IISc Bengaluru, NAL Bengaluru, and NITK Surathkal Mangaluru, and sponsored, to make the project successful, for the betterment of society. He also said that the KSCST was sponsoring 560 projects from the various college of Karnataka for the year.

Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D in his presidential address congratulated the students who got sponsors from KSCST for their project. He also asked them to utilise the sponsored amount to complete the project and make it successful.

Dr C G Ramachandra, student project programme coordinator briefed the audience about the projects which were exhibited by students in Srinivas Institute of Technology and mentioned that 78 projects were displayed in the exhibition. Also, he stated that projects were evaluated by eight academic and industrial experts from NAL, Bengaluru, NITK, Suarthakal and official of KSCST.

The gather was welcomed by Jayaram Thumbay, professor of Mechanical Engineering department. The vote of thanks was delivered by Shashank professor of Mechanical Engineering department. The master of ceremony was Flavita Pinto, professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
