Mangalore, Mar 1: Mangalore diocese is striving to put in all its efforts in order to achieve the target set for establishing the much needed Medical Relief Fund. The diocese is not leaving any stone unturned so that no one suffers from lack of financial resources to meet his/her medical expences. The goal is to have a permanent fund of Rs 1 crore and the diocese has already collected more than Rs 50 lac. The remaining amount has to be collected soon so that a long-pending dream of having a Medical Relief Fund becomes a reality.

In this regard the Mangalore diocese has now planned to organize a musical evening on Sunday April 13, with the chief objective to mobilize funds for diocesan Medical Relief Fund and to promote the local Konkani talents.

Ester Noronha, a melodious singer, a dancer par excellence and an able musician will be the star of this musical evening. Though Ester the singer is more popular than Ester the dancer, her prowess in Bharatanatyam with those fleeting legs has enabled her to create a niche for herself among the classical dancers.

In Konkani circles though Ester is popularly known for her melodious Konkani songs “Ko ko re ko’ and ‘Achiko Ichiko,’ her dancing talent has not gone unnoticed. She joined Bharatanatyam classes when she was just 7 years old and learned to play guitar and piano. She has already taken part in many musical nites both in India and abroad. One can listen to her voice in audio cassettes and CDs.

She is studying in X std at St Gerosa Girls’ High School, Jeppu.

But the April 13 show will bring to light another talent of the multi-faceted Ester Noronha that is music composition. Songs composed by Ester Noronha will be the special attraction of the evening.  Some of the enchanting and hit songs composed by well-known musicians too will be the part of the much-awaited show which will be directed by Konkan Kogull Wilfy Rebimbus and Konkani Kalashree Claud D'Souza.  Renowned musician Joswin will score the background music.

Dolla and his troupe are all set to cast a spell on the audience with their laugh riot.

The enthralling show will be held at Town hall on Sunday April 13 at 5.30 pm.
