All-India Kannada Cultural Convention – 2008 at Vapi

Mumbai, Feb 12: All-India Kannada Cultural Convention – 2008, will be held at Vapi, in Gujarat state, on Saturday February 16 and Sunday February 17.  The convention will be held at V I A Auditorium on the late Vysaraya Ballal stage, GIDC, Vapi.  The convention has been organized by Vapi Kannada Sangh and Hrudayavahini Kannada monthly, Mangalore.

The convention will be inaugurated by Sudhakar Shetty, president of Kannada Sangh, Kuwait.  Dr Sumatindra Nadig, will be the chairperson of convention.  D S Veerayya, MLC, Harikrishna Punaroor, honorary president of convention committee, Mallara Nimbargi, honorary president of welcome committee will be the chief guests present on the occasion.  K P Manjunath Sagar, president of cultural committee, will deliver the keynote address on the occasion.

Hrudayavantaru annual awards will be presented on the second day of the convention which will be presided over by former Karnataka chief minister B S Yedyurappa.  Yakshagana, Jogathi dance, ballets, koli dance etc will also be part of the two-day convention.
