Hebri-origin scholar Shwetha P Shetty awarded doctorate by VTU

Hebri, Oct 1: Shwetha P Shetty, wife of Pune-based entrepreneur Prasanna Shetty and a native of Perdur, has been awarded a doctorate by Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, at its 26th annual convocation.

She was awarded the doctoral degree for her research thesis titled 'A study of single and double integrals involving hypergeometric and generalized hypergeometric functions with applications', completed under the guidance of Dr Shanthakumari K, professor and former Head of the department of mathematics at A J Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mangaluru.

Shwetha has served as an assistant professor at engineering colleges in Mangaluru for seven years. Her research papers have been published in national and international mathematics journals.

She is the daughter of the late Sundar Shetty of Ermala Puchottu and Vatsala Shetty of Padur Karmarapady.
