Lok Sabha adjourned after opposition protests demonetisation


New Delhi, Nov 18 (IANS): The Lok Sabha was adjourned within minutes of convening on Friday as opposition members protested loudly and demanded a debate on the government's demonitisation move under rules than entail voting.

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said the poor were suffering due to the spiking of 500 and 1,000 rupee notes.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar, however, said people supported the measure aimed at to curb unaccounted wealth and corruption in the country.

As opposition members created ruckus, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the house till 12.

    It is equally important to perform well from panchayat to PM level. All should primarily have the motive to render service to society. If monetary benefits become the sole intention then service to people decline. In other words all public servants must work for the betterment of the public in the true sense. Even the general public must cooperate with the public servants. We have elected them. Democracy is from the people by the people and for the people. Ultimately how each citizen performs is that really matters. Thank you and God bless each and every one of us.
