Six Rebel BJP MLAs in Gujarat to Tender Resignation

Ahmedabad, Nov 17: Six rebel MLAs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have decided to resign from the Gujarat Legislative Assembly as well as from the primary membership of party later on Saturday.

The MLAs who are expected to resign are - Dhiru Gajera (Surat), Bechar Bhadani, Bavku Unghad, Balu Tanti, Gopal Dhua and Narendrasinh Jadeja. Arial Gajera, Bhadani, Unghad and Tanti were recently suspended from the party for dissident activities, while BJP is yet to taken action against the other two.

"We will be submitting our resignation to Speaker Mangaldas Patel sometime in the afternoon," Gajera told PTI.

The six MLAs are likely to contest Gujarat Assembly elections, to be held in two phases on December 11 and 16, on Congress ticket.
