PM pays tribute to Syama Prasad Mookerjee


New Delhi, Jul 6 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hailed Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the Bharatiya Jan Sangh founder, on his 115th birth anniversary, saying India will remember him for his contribution to the country's history.

"On his birth anniversary, my tributes to Syama Prasad Mookerjee. We remember with pride his rich contribution towards India’s history," said the Prime Minister.

Born on July 6, 1901, Mookerjee founded the Jana Sangh in 1951 and was its first President. He was also India's first industry minister.
