Johannesburg, Sep 25: There was a windfall for the Indian team after they lifted the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup beating arch-rivals Pakistan in the finals here on Monday.

BCCI President Sharad Pawar, who was present on the occasion, declared an award of USD 2 million after Mahendra Singh Dhoni's boys clinched the nail-biting encounter by five runs in front of a boisterous, tricolour waving crowd.

Another Rs 1 crore in prize money was announced for Yuvraj Singh for becoming the first batsman to hit six sixes in an over in the shortest version of the game.

Yuvraj, who had been firing on all cylinders in the tournament, brought up the record by whacking Stuart Broad in the Super Eight match against England.

Besides, the tournament prize money of USD 4,90,000 further swelled their purses.

Johannesburg: India, who won Monday's Twenty20 World Cup final against Pakistan, will be invited to play in a $5 million (2.5 million pound) match against the Stanford Super Team in the West Indies next year.

Sir Allen Stanford, the creator of a domestic Twenty20 championship in the Caribbean, on Monday announced that the World Cup winners will be asked to play the lucrative winner-takes-all match against a West Indies select team in Antigua in June 2008.

Twenty-one Caribbean islands and territories will vie for the world's biggest prize in domestic cricket in January and February 2008. The best players will be chosen for the Stanford Super Team.

"Since this is the first Twenty20 world championships and that is the format of our tournament, we felt it was fitting to have the winners come and play our Super Star team next year," Stanford said.
