Did the Government have a courtesy to talk to the locals, who will be displaced and may lose their livelihood? What about the job opportunities to the locals? MRPL did not hire the locals when it was first set up. THe reason they gave was if they hire locals there is a chance of strike. What actions will the petrochemicals will take to preserve the natural wealth of Mangalore and how will ensure the environmental safety?
