Mangalore, Jul 24: The Tulu movie 'Koti Chennaya' has been deliberately left out of contention at the time of awarding the state awards, said R Dhanraj producer of the Tulu movie in a press conference here on Tuesday July 24.

He further said “I reject the award 'the best supporting actress' awarded to our movie, and we will move to court seeking justice.”

Speaking to media persons the producer said that another Tulu movie ‘Badi’ based on the problems related to dowry has been selected for the award, and our movie "Koti Chennaya" which is based on the history d has not even been seen.

He summed up that the whole process undergone during selection is a “pure injustice.”

He further said that it is a white lie that the story has been twisted, rather “We have been loyal to the original story and the script is decided on the prolonged discussion with the scholars like Vaman Nandavar,” he said.

“Even we have tried to develop the script keeping the sentiments and faith of all communities for instance that of Billavas” he added.
