Mangalore, Jul 23: The proposal to introduce Tulu as the third optional language from this academic year for students from sixth standard by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy is still awaiting approval of the state cabinet, said M K Seetharama Kulal, president of the academy.

The textbooks were made ready by the academy as per the guidelines of the Department of State Education Research and Training (DSERT). Once it was approved by the Cabinet, the DSERT would do the arrangements for printing the textbooks, he said addressing the press persons.

The textbook will contain 15 lessons. After the approval, the academy would start working on a textbook for seventh standard, he said.

    Appreciate the step taken to keep alive the great history of  Tulu . Every one respects his language and this will make every Tulunadigas proud to say that he too has a origin and history of his own. Keep it up
