Kundapur, Jul 13: "The transplantation of human organs from one body to another is very common in developed countries like America," said Dr Surendra Shenoy the expert in surgery of Medical Centre of Washington University at Bandarkar’s College under the auspices of science association here.
 
Speaking on the occasion he said that nearly 19,000 people have been on the waiting list to receive the human organs from donors. The system would greatly help to meet the needs of many patients for such organs especially from the dead.

Dr Shantaram, the administrative officer of Manipal University, was present on the occasion.

Dr Shalini Shenoy, children’s specialist of St Louis of Missourian Province of USA, spoke on the cancer of children and said the proliferation of cells in the human body caused this abominable disease and the cure has been made possible by the transplantation of healthy cells of the other human body.  

The lectures followed by  a question-and-answer session. Vismita welcomed the gathering while Mamata and Sampat Kumar introduced the chief guests. Principal Narayan Rao felicitated them by presenting mementos. Shubha proposed the vote of thanks.
