Hemp worth Rs 24,000 Seized:

The DCIB sleuths have seized 3.6 kg of Hemp (locally known as ganja) worth Rs 24,000 approximately and in this connection have arrested one person in the city today.

Acting on credible information about the person possessing ganja, DCIB team led by the police inspector A D Nagaraj alongwith SP Satish Kumar and ASP B S Lokesh Kumar arrested one person near Gautham Restaurant on Azeezuddin road and seized the drug ganga from him . The accused has been identified as Honnappa Jadav (32) a resident of Hanagal taluk in Haveri district. Another accused involved in the racket, Ashok supposed to be the prime accused is absconding. A case has been registered in Mangalore South police station and investigations are going on.

Bike Stolen:

A bike reportedly parked near St Aloysius Chapel, was stolen.

This theft was committed by some unknown culprits. The bike a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-W-2200 belonged to Sanvith Malli aged 19 years, resident of Vinayaka Apartments, Lady Hill, Mangalore. According to his statement before the police his bike was parked near St. Aloysius Chapel Mangalore. The motorcycle cost around Rs. 49,000/.

A case of MV theft has been registered in Mangalore North (Bunder) police station.

Boy missing:

Praveen aged 14 years has been missing from Kavoor.

He is the son of Basappa Devappa Hombala resident of Mullakadu, Mangalore. As per the report filed at the police station he left his house on July 1, 2006 and did not return to his house since then. A case of missing has been registered at the Kavoor Police Station.
