Kuwait: Tulu Play Oiryadth Ori Asal Bids Goodbye to Theatre

Kuwait, Jun 7,8: "The Entertainers"  Kuwait organized their maiden event, Twin Tulu Dramas "Madhme" and "Oiryadth Ori Asal" on Thursday,  7th of June 2007 and Friday, 8th of June 2007, at Masrah Hawally Auditorium.  The rib tickling comedy dramas were written and directed by theatre personality Vijay Kumar Kodialbail.



“The Entertainers” a group of philanthropic friends joined hands to bring in some good entertainment programs from India.  The group is coordinated by Kuwait’s well known personalities  Diany Coutinho, a successful event organizer and president of AAK,  Anand D’Souza, a popular sound and lighting engineer, David D’Souza, a talented interior decorator who has given excellent stage setting almost for all Mangalorean events and Nitin Castelino, President of SWAK.

The Twin dramas were staged by “Kalasangama”, a Tulu drama troupe led by playwright and director Vijay Kumar Kodialbail. The wedding of the year, "Madhme" was played on 7th June 2007 was a suspense filled comedy drama, directed by Vijay Kumar Kodialbail which was its 95th show.  The program of the day started with lighting of the lamp by the coordinators & the director and continued with nonstop entertainment. 








The second drama played on 8th June 2007, "Oiryadth Ori Asal" has been a household name in and around Mangalore and for the first time the people of Kuwait had the opportunity to witness the most hilarious Drama.  This was the 652nd show which is really a great achievement. 

The director Vijay Kumar Kodialbail was felicitated by traditional shawl, memento and fruits.  Prominent personalities of Kuwait Elias Sanctis, Satish Shetty, Felix D’Souza and Fr. Melwyn were present on the dais. Fr. Melwyn spoke few words about the program and wished the artists, coordinators and audience.  Mementoes were presented to the Artists by David D’Souza on behalf of the Coordinators and by the guests on the dais.  The other members of “Kalasangama” were Ravi Suratkal, Udaya Kumar, Harish Kumar, Chandra Kumar, Kudroli Lokesh, A.K.Vijay, Boloor Nagesh, Shrilanjana, Roshni Jagram, Anisha Lakshman, Lolakshi Shashidhar, Ramesh Kalladka, Chandrashekar and Dayananda Kulal. 




Speaking to the audience, director Vijay Kumar Kodialbail said that this is a last show on stage as a feature film on this is under production.  He also added that the film is almost completed and going to hit the silver screen during September 2007.  He thanked Kuwait audience for supporting Tulu dramas and artists specially to him, Naveen Padil and Devdas Kapikad.  Here we can remember that all the three troops have performed in Kuwait during last two years.
 
Both the programs were well compered by Jaison Lasrado.  The proceeds of the program will go to home for aged which is a good cause done by “The Entertainers”.
