German media highlights angry Guardiola

Munich, Aug 5 (IANS): German media on Wednesday highlighted the frustration demonstrated by Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola after Italian football club AC Milan captain Nigel de Jong injured the Bavarian team's Joshua Kimmich during a friendly on Tuesday.

Bayern won the Audi Cup pre-season friendly 3-0 against Milan and will go on to face Real Madrid, although perhaps without the assistance of the injured Kimmich, reports Efe.

Bild newspaper remarked that the Audi Cup was just a pre-season friendly but Guardiola nonetheless was pretty heated after de Jong injured Kimmich.

The popular publication illustrated Pep's ire with a sequence of photos starting with Guardiola at the bench but went on to praise Bayern's clear victory over Milan, even though several big names like Thiago Alcantara and Arjen Robben did not play.

Guardiola has been the target of harsh criticisms in recent days, especially after losing the DFL-Supercup in a penalty shootout on Saturday against Wolfsburg.

Yet focus has shifted to the Audi Cup final against Real Madrid which will be held in the Allianz Arena here on Wednesday night.
