Mangalore, May 20: BJP-JD (S) coalition government in the state has provided maximum facilities for the development of minorities than the past governments. Hence, the Muslims in Ullal constituency should vote for BJP, said Yediyurappa, deputy chief minister of Karnataka.

He was speaking with presspersons after attending the golden jubilee celebration of Kottari Samaja Seva Sudharaka Sangha in the city on Sunday May 20.

“The state government has reserved Rs 150 crore for minorities, in the last budget. The government is bound to safeguard the interests of the minorities. Hence, the Muslims here should support us,” he requested.

Fielding of JD (S) candidate at Ullal by-election is the sole decision of Deve Gowda which cannot be questioned by BJP. He might have fielded his candidate to strengthen JD (S) here. Now the BJP would strongly contend against Congress and a friendly fight would be with JD (S). Anyhow, BJP would definitely win the contest, he opined.

Election Campaign:

Election fever is rising day by day at Ullal constituency. On Sunday May 20, Sunil Kumar, MLA of Karkala and also the national secretary of Yuva Morcha went on a door-to-door campaign at Ullal, Tokkottu and Bandikotya, on behalf of BJP candidate Chandrashekhar Uchil. Sources said that Yadiyurappa would campaign here on Monday May 21.

On the other hand, Mallikarjun Kharge, president, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), had paid visit to Ullal Darga, Bhagavti temple, Someshwar temple and St Sebastian church in the Ullal constituency.
