Ilicevic extends contract with Hamburg

Hamburg, July 1 (IANS): Midfielder Ivo Ilicevic has extended his contract with German football club Hamburg for another year.

The 28-year-old, who joined from Kaiserslautern in 2011, penned a one-year contract extension with the 'HSV', reports Xinhua.

"I am very delighted about my contract extension. The last four years were not perfect, but under coach Bruno Labbadia I got a new chance. I would like to make use of my new chance to show what I can," Ilicevic said.

Ilicevic made 53 appearances to score six goals and one assist for the 'Rothosen'.

Hamburg will clash with German record champions Bayern Munich for Bundesliga kick-off on August 15.
