Most balanced side we are playing: RCB skipper Kohli

New Delhi, April 27 (IANS): After a thumping 10-wicket win over Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli on Sunday said the current RCB squad was the most balanced one in terms of both batting and bowling.

RCB pacers Mitchell Starc (3/20), Varun Aaron (2/24) and David Wiese (2/18) bowled their hearts out to skittle out Daredevils for a meagre 95 in just 18.2 overs.

In reply, Chris Gayle (62 off 40 balls) and skipper Virat Kohli (35 off 23 balls) chased down the score in just 10.3 overs with 10 wickets in hand.

"We have the best combination now and it is important to get the balance right in T20 cricket. I think this is the most balanced side we are playing," Kohli said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

The skipper praised opener Gayle for his short but sparkling innings.

"He's (Gayle) pretty cool on the outside, but pretty intense from the inside. I am much more expressive, so that kind of brings the balance," he said.

The 26-year-old skipper said, after this win, his team needs to hold on the momentum and not lose it.

"I think it is not a bad combination (Starc and Aaron) at all, but you need to have an experienced guy. The last game was very important and it was a timely win. We can't afford to be complacent. Momentum is very important and we should not lose it," Kohli said.
