Ding beats Higgins at snooker Worlds


Sheffield (England), April 25 (IANS): Former World No.1 Ding Junhui beat four-time winner John Higgins 13-9 to reach the quarter-finals of the Snooker World Championships here on Saturday.

Ding, who fought back from 1-5 down to make it 5-3 against Higgins after the first session, took a 9-7 lead and took control in the third to win 13-9, reports Xinhua.

The Chinese will next face the winner of the match between Marco Fu and Judd Trump.
