Mangalore: 'Anveeksha 07' - National Level Paper Presentation Competition

Mangalore, March 15: ANVEEKSHA-2007, the National level technical paper presentation on Futuristic Technologies in the field of computer science was inaugurated by Dr Aloysius Sequeira, Registrar ,NITK on 15 march 2007 at 9 a.m. in Eric Mathias  Hall of the IT Centre of St Aloysius College, Mangalore.



Dr. Sequeira the Chief Guest of the day addressed the gathering on the growing importance of knowledge workers who need to be trained from an early age. Ricky Santhosh Rebello, the staff co-coordinator of Anveeksha welcomed the gathering.



Rev.Fr. Francis Serrao SJ, the Rector of St. Aloysius College presided over the function and stressed on the growing need  value based education. Also present on the dais was Rev.Fr.Denzil Lobo SJ, Director of AICS. He stressed the need of improving higher education in our Country. He made a reference to the  recommendations of National Knowledge Commission with regard to quality education and said that we need to train our Human resource to face the challenges of the changes that are taking place and have research going on not only in premier Institutes, but that it should be part of under graduate Colleges also.



Fifteen colleges  are participating in the symposium, and papers will be presented  on topics like soft Computing, Network security, Business Intelligence and Emerging Technologies.

Dr. Manohar Pai, HOD, Dept of Information Technologies & Communicant Technologies, MIT  gave a talk on ubiquitous computing and Dr Nirnajan Chiplunker, Head, Computer Science , NMAMIT, Niite on Data Security and Cryptography.


Joel Cutinho, President, ELIXIR, welcomed the gathering  Mohammad Ansar propsed the vote of thanks.
