Daijiworld Media Network - Dubai

Dubai, Mar 7: After a long drawn process, the story of the unclaimed body of Philip Tauro, a Mangalorean who died in a road accident in November 2006, has come to and end. The family of Tauro in Mumbai has requested social organizations in Dubai to perform the burial formalities in Dubai and not to send the mortal remains back to India.

It was Emirates Evening Post, UAE an evening daily which carried the news of the unclaimed body of Philip Tauro which was kept in the mortuary for the past three months.

Joining the campaign to trace his relatives, Daijiworld.com re-produced the story to its readers and a major clue was found within 24-hours of publication. Gefrey Castelino, former colleague of Philip Tauro, Rony D`Cunha, community leader and Valley of Love, a helping hand social organization successfully traced the family route back in Mumbai and informed the family of his death.

Shocked by this news, the family immediately requested to send the body to Mumbai and necessary paper work was also completed from Mumbai.

But within two days, the family expressed their inability to perform the final rites in Mumbai, owing to financial difficulties. The family revised the legal affidavit and sent the papers again to Dubai and requested social service institutions to carryon with the burial rites in Dubai.

Valley of Love, a social organization which is doing social service silently in the region, led by K Mathew of Kerala, took up this matter with zeal and cleared the legal matters and took possession of the body from the mortuary.

The funeral will be held on March 7, 2007 at 3 pm at Jebel Ali Cemetery. Fr Freddy D`Souza of St Mary's Church is expected to perform the last rites.

D’Cunha expressed his special appreciation to Mathew who had dedicated his full professional time to help the needy people.
