Salman Khan's driver Ashok confesses to killing people in accident

Mumbai, Mar 30: Actor Salman Khan who was charged with culpable homicide, has had a bit of respite given that his driver appeared before the court to accept his mistake of driving an SUV over and injuring people asleep on a pavement. He also said that the accident happened because he while he had run over the people, he was certain that the tyres of their vehicle had been tampered with.

The accident killed one person and injured four. The driver also said that the left side doors of their vehicle was jammed and therefore the both the actor and he had to get out of the vehicle from the doors on the right. He said, "I was driving when the tyre burst and the brake jammed. The car went over the steps. I saw that people were trapped beneath. I got out of the right side and Salman too got out of the right side as the left door was jammed."

Ashok Singh went on to describe to the court how Salman and himself attempted, albeit without success, to lift the vehicle in order to free the people trapped underneath it. Ashok said, "I then dialed 100 and went to the police station and narrated the accident. They told me the police had left for the spot. I was asked to wait. I told Salman I was suspecting foul play," He apologised the troubles faced by the actor in a case that was his mistake and for not coming before the court sooner.
