Akshay Kumar unveils 'Gabbar Is Back' trailer

Mumbai, March 23 (IANS): Actor Akshay Kumar on Monday unveiled the trailer of his much-awaited film "Gabbar Is Back" in the presence of the entire cast of the movie.

"Gabbar Is Back" is a remake of 2002 Tamil film "Ramanaa". The actor also performed a small stunt before the event started.

"The entire nation knows Gabbar is the biggest villain. In that film, he killed all the good people and in this film also, this Gabbar is hitting out, but at the wrong people," Akshay told reporters during the trailer launch.

"Gabbar Is Back" has been directed by famous southern director Krish and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

It features Akshay and Shruti Haasan, and is slated to release on May 1.

Akshay said he has always worked on different subjects and it was important to make a film on corruption.

"I have worked with Murugadoss who directed the original film 'Ramanna'. He had written the film 11 years back. I think still there is corruption and to stop corruption, it was a great way to do this film. I have always worked on different subjects and it depends on people what they pick up from his film," he said.
