Dubai, Jan 28: Byndoor Catholic Association celebrated its 17th anniversary on Friday January 26 at Winny’s restaurant, Karama here.

 

The celebrations began with the annual general body meting and nomination of the office-bearers for the year 2007. The following

President: Robert Gras
Vice-president: Shaila D. Gras
Gen secretary  :  Dinesh Gras
Joint secretary: Rudolph Rodrigues
Treasurer : Ivan Dias
Asst treasurer : Ignatious Martin Lobo
Auditor: Salvadore Nazareth

The programme was presided over by Dr Freddy D’Souza in the presence of invited guests - Noel Mascarenhas, president SMKC Dubai and his wife, Edwin Mathias, liturgical coordinator of St Mary’s Church and his wife and Martin Everest Dias, vice-president of Holy Cross Church, Byndoor and his wife.

Speaking on the occasion, Noel Mascarenhas advised the members to work hard for the welfare of the society and upliftment of the downtrodden. Fr Freddy D’Souza and Martin Everest also spoke on the occasion. There were various cultural programmes also including dance, prayer songs, Konkani songs, comedy etc.


The meeting was conducted by Ivan Dias while the games and group activities were conducted by Dinesh Gras. Shaila D Gras compered the event.
