'Birdman' wins Oscar for best cinematography


Los Angeles, Feb 23 (IANS): Emmanuel Lubezki was Sunday night honoured for his cinematography in "Birdman" at the 87th Academy Awards here Sunday night, and Adam Stockhausen and Anna Pinnock received the Oscar for Production Design in "The Grand Budapest Hotel".

Maria Djurkovic and Tatiana Macdonald for the film "The Imitation Game", Nathan Crowley and Gary Fettis for "Interstellar", Dennis Gassner and Anna Pinnock for "Into the Woods "and Suzie Davies and Charlotte Watts for "Mr. Turner" were the other nominations in the Production Design category.

In the Best Cinematography category, the contenders included Robert Yeoman for "The Grand Budapest Hotel", Lukasz Zal and Ryszard Lenczewski for " Ida", Dick Pope for " Mr. Turner" and Roger Deakins for "Unbroken".
