Mangalore, Jan 1: Daijiworld’s efforts at stretching out a helping hand have borne sweet fruits again. Thanks to the generous contributions of our readers, White Doves, a charitable organization which runs homes for the poor and destitute here, has been able to build a house for an HIV positive couple.
The house was inaugurated on Sunday December 31 at 10 am. Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza blessed and inaugurated the house. People of the neighbourhood were present while the White Doves choir sang hymns.
Sometime back, Daijiworld had published an appeal for contribution towards the construction of a house for Rony and Rita, an HIV positive couple, at the initiative of White Doves.
Speaking to Daijiworld, Corrine Rasquinha, founder president, White Doves, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Michael and Flavy D'Souza, John P Cutinho, Loyal D'Souza, Joylene Sequeira, Jerome and Donna Aranha, Marian P Rodrigues, Janet Fernandes and Diana George, and last but not the least, the Daijiworld readers who contributed financially.
White Doves also expressed its thanks to Daijiworld for making its dream a reality.
