PM to address 4-5 rallies in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 23 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address four-five rallies in the capital between Jan 29 and Feb 4 - ahead of the Feb 7 assembly election, Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said Friday.

"Modi ji has a busy schedule but we sought his time and he will be addressing four or five rallies in Delhi," Upadhyay told reporters here.

The time and venue of the rallies have not been decided yet. "The party will take a decision on the venues soon," he said.

Modi had addressed a massive rally in Delhi's Ramlila Maidan Jan 10 in the run-up to the assembly polls.

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief said the party will release its manifesto for the assembly polls after Jan 26.

"The manifesto is ready and we will release it after Republic Day. It may come out on Jan 27 or 28," he said.

Some of the candidates may release their own manifestos keeping in mind the issues of their respective constituencies, he said.

"The party will release one manifesto for Delhi and the candidates will prepare their own manifestos for their particular constituencies," Upadhyay said.

Voting for the 70-member Delhi assembly will take place Feb 7. Results will be declared Feb 10.
