Thank You : Daijiworld.com turns 15 - a Milestone year

Walter Nandalike

Editor-in-chief
Daijiworld.com

Mangalore, Jan 14 : The entire team of daijiworld.com takes this opportunity to convey our heartfelt gratitude to each and every reader, and everyone who has been responsible in helping us see this day and achieve such an exponential growth in the field of online media. Completing fourteen years, and stepping into the milestone year of 15 is not a small thing for us; we have faced the best and worst of times, but end of the day, we feel huge satisfaction in what we have achieved.

The 14th year was quite eventful as well as fruitful for us. We have now created a strong media group under 'Daijiworld' umbrella. Our print magazine Daijiworld Weekly completed five successful years and is making special impact as the only English weekly published from Karnataka. On June 16, 2014 we launched 'Daijiworld 24x7' news and entertainment TV channel which has already seen overwhelming response, much beyond our expectations. We are happy that our TV channel is becoming a household name in coastal Karnataka. On May 9, 2014 we moved into our own premises, the Daijiworld corporate office at Bondel, where all three media (dotcom, print, and TV) operate from.

But what has been most satisfying for all of us at daijiworld is not the quantity of achievement, but our efforts towards reaching out to the needy. Year 2014 generated approximately Rs 2 crore for the poor and needy, thanks to the large-hearted readers of daijiworld.com. For each deserving appeal we presented, the readers' response was extremely encouraging and overwhelming. As we step into 15th year, we have the satisfaction of reaching out to the needy by generating contributions to the tune of Rs 10 crore, all of which was transferred directly to the beneficiaries without any middlemen. Dear readers, what could give us more happiness than this? Without your trust and contribution we may not have seen this great day today. Once again, thank you to all.

Several of our reports have created impact, with government as well as private institutions responding very well to our investigative and exclusive reports. Our team is our driving force, and in the coming years, we will continue to highlight social issues and see that daijiworld.com has a solid impact on our society. After all, what is media if not a catalyst for change?

In the year ahead, we plan to bring you special events and programmes. Like you always do, please correct us when we go wrong, give suggestions and help us with your feedback, both positive and negative. We know that there is always scope for improvement, and our efforts have always been towards being the best we can. And it is you, dear readers, who support us and keep us going.

We are happy that during the year 2014, daijiworld.com saw a growth of 28% in the form of visitors with almost reaching 1.2 million page views per day. We are seeing growth in our readership as well as revenues.

We specially thank our advertisers, well-wishers, our entire team in Mangaluru offices as well as our teams, correspondents and contributors in Udupi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Goa and other parts of the world for supporting us all these years, and we expect similar support in the days to come.

Our readers are our strength - a big thank you to all.

We have a few pleasant surprises lined up in our milestone year. Please be with us, as always.

Congratulations Mr. Walter and Team Daijiworld! Fourteen years of commitment and dedication to link the West Coast of India and the world has borne fruit. Readers, viewers, visitors, well- wishers, donors, advertisers have all contributed towards achieving this milestone. Of special mention is your concern for the deserving poor and the generosity shown to them through public contribution. May the fifteenth year and the future years bring light into millions of lives, give voice to the “voiceless”, bring a ray of hope to the people neglected and the people left out of development. May your shining example inspire and motivate all people of goodwill especially our youth to dedicate themselves to social development.

Thanks, dear Walter and your team for a job well done for 15 solid years. You and your UMBRELLA of talented team has not only rendered a service of effective media in quality as well as in quantity.

You, yourself, dear Walter have been a strong vanguard of wisdom and you have master-minded a great deal towards the expansion of the Daijiworld, including your new complex at Bondel.

It was indeed a pleasure to visit your complex and meet in person so many young and energetic men and women who are working so efficiently and also effectively for the upkeep of the media and journalism. Your personal as well as group contribution is a tremendous gift to our Society in Mangalore and beyond.

You started your project with handful of people, but when you indicated to me that your group has now multiplied into 90 people, I made a determined effort to visit with you and your entire team and I was thrilled ton witness the progress all around. You and Leslie even gave me a chance to enter your Studio and gave me full sixty minutes of your time, talent and facility so that your program "Amchi Mathi and Amch Monis" became a haven for me to voice my humble message in my mother tongue.

Keep up the good work and may God bless you and your entire team.

What a great moment for all of us Mangaloreans worldwide..
What inspired me is, this boy Walter Nandalike started the website from scratch when he did not even had enough knowledge on internet or IT. Today he has seen exponential growth in online media, success of webportal inspired him to launch print magazine and now the TV channel. A village boy has built an empire...today the huge corporate office in Bondel is witness for his growth. The admiring fact is, he is still same Walter whom we have seen 10-15years back!
He can be perfect role-model for the youngsters today. You don't need MBAs or masters to narrate the secret of success, but once session from Walter can change the minds of youngsters. Wait and watch he will be in Forbes soon..mark my words. Sky is no limit for him.

You are indeed making a statement in all humility about the growth and reach of Daijiworld. During the past fifteen years you have indeed made an impact on all readers with your interesting articles, anecdotes, reports and news.

Your addition of weekly media is another feather in your cap and of course we cannot leave out Stephen who is playing a dominant role as a writer and publisher of your weekly which is well received, and assimilated and digested by people from all walks of life.

You have made a valuable contribution to India - the world and particularly to people of Dakshina Kannada. Your publications need all praise and people look forward to you media lighting up from fifteenth anniversary to sliver and then to gold and diamond - platinum and then hitting a century.

Generations will see the glory of Daiji. Long live DAIJI - long live people who are behind this media.
