Edney wins World Cup luge title

Ottawa, Dec 14 (IANS): Sam Edney lifted Canada's first ever World Cup luge title in the men's event in Calgary, Alberta.

Edney finished the race in 46.146 seconds, ahead of German Olympic champion Felix Loch and Chris Mazdzer from the US Saturday, reports Xinhua.

Race officials cut the competition to just one run because of bad weather and poor track conditions.

Edney, 30, led after the first heat, but that was nullified by race officials because of "track conditions" before Edney put down an even faster time in the second heat.
