India strike late blows to restrict Australia to 354/6


Adelaide, Dec 9 (IANS): India struck late blows to restrict Australia to 354 for six at stumps on the opening day of the first cricket Test of a four-match series at the Adelaide Oval here Tuesday.

Australia were in a strong position at 238 for two at tea with opener David Warner cracking an unbeaten 131 and skipper Michael Clarke hitting 60 but three quick late wickets pegged them back with Mohammed Shami being India's best bowler, picking up two wickets for 83 runs.
