Australia reach 238/2 at tea

Adelaide, Dec 9 (IANS): Australia reached 238 for two at tea on day one of the first cricket Test against India at the Adelaide Oval here Tuesday.

The only blip in an otherwise perfect session for Australia, was Michael Clarke (60) walking off the field retired hurt. The Australian skipper, who had been declared fit Monday from a chronic back problem, looked to have had another back spasm.

Opener David Warner continued with his merry-making and was batting on 131 off just 140 balls.

Indian bowlers failed to take even a single wicket and hardly troubled the Australians.
