Olympic champion Ammann wins ski jumping World Cup


Helsinki, Nov 29 (IANS): Four-time Olympic champion Simon Ammann of Switzerland won the ski jumping World Cup at Kuusamo.

The 33-year-old Swiss put in a jump of 142 metres on his second attempt Friday for a winning total of 284.1 points, reported Xinhua.

Daiki Ito of Japan finished second on 276.1 points after a final jump of 137.5 metres.

Fellow Japanese, 42-year-old Noriaki Kasai, took third place with 270.5 points.

Ammann now leads the overall World Cup standings with 136 points.
