Have no social life, friends: Ronit Roy

New Delhi, Nov 22 (IANS): Actor Ronit Roy, who will be seen as a male protagonist in TV show “Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar”, says he balances personal and professional life by becomeing a recluse.

“I don't have a social life, have no friends and don't like to go out. I am a recluse. So I go to work and after the shoot head straight to home. Hence I have not lost out on personal life as I balance it,” Ronit told IANS over a telephonic interview from Mumbai.

Ekta Kapoor’s show, that airs on Sony Entertainment Television, revolves around a divorced couple and their relationship when they meet after 15 years.

Though the actor was seen “Adaalat”, Ronit is returning to the world of daily serials after four years.

“I had not worked with Ekta for a long time. Everyone used to ask me that why was I not working with her. And my reply used to be that 'when she will have a role for me she will call me'. And now she called me for this role and I said yes,” he said.

Tthe actor who brought some memorable roles like Rishabh Bajaj in “Kasautii Zindagii Kay” and Mihir Virani in “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” alive on screen, insists the serial is not about having an illicit relationship with your former flame, but rediscovering the lost love.

“The serial is not about having a relationship with your ex but re-discovering the love that you had when you were married. It is about realising what you have lost out and is about an attempt to reclaim it,” said the actor.

The actor has not taken up any other projects other than the daily show.

“I don't plan much. I don't have any other projects other than the show. When any film will come up I will put it across the production house and I am sure they will do something,” he said.

The actor is often seen portraying role of a father -- be it an abusive father in “2 States” or a strict one in “Udaan”. But the actor says it is coincidence these role got popular.

“I have done other films as well like “Student Of The Year”, “Shootout at Wadala” and “Boss” where I did not portray father's role. It is just that in two of my well -known projects like “Udaan” and "2 States" I happen to be a father,” Ronit said.

“I basically do work that excites me and if that role happens to be a father then I play it,” he added.
