Manila, Nov 22 (IANS): Indian golfers Shiv Kapur and Chiragh Kumar fired five-under 67 each to finish tied 13th and joint 14th, respectively, after the third round of the $1 million Manila Masters at the par-72 Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club here Saturday.
Kapur, who scored 142 after the first two rounds, jumped 16 places with a total score of 209 while Chiragh added 67 to his previous scores of 72, 71 to jump 27 places as Singapore's Mardan Mamat maintained his lead with a sizzling six-under 66.
Mamat scored seven birdies against a lone bogey to accumulate 17-under 199 and holds a four-stroke lead against second placed Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand. The reigning Asian Tour Order of Merit champion Kiradech carded 68. Frenchman Lionel Weber fired a superb 64 to move into third place, five behind the leader.
American Berry Henson, who also carded a 64, settled for a share of fourth place with Malaysia’s Nicholas Fung, who returned a 68. Last year’s runner-up Prom Meesawat of Thailand produced a new course record of 63 which included seven birdies and one eagle that left him in tied ninth place on 208.
Other Indians in the fray, Arjun Atwal and Rashid Khan finished tied 31st and 42nd, respectively. While Atwal managed a par score for a total of 212, Rashid scored a poor two-over 74 to finish with an overall score of two-under 214.
Rahil Gangjee and Himmat Rai shared 53rd position after coming up with scores of 73 and 74, respectively. They have a total of 216.
Veteran Indian Jeev Milkha Singh scored 72 to finish joint 55th with four others.
