Swedish health minister to visit India


New Delhi, Nov 21 (IANS): Swedish Healthcare, Public Health and Sports Minister Gabriel Wikstrom will visit India Nov 23 to attend the celebrations of five years of successful cooperation in the field of healthcare and public health.

During his three-day visit Wikstrom will inaugurate the "India Sweden MoU Celebration Conference" and participate in regulatory workshops and visit the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, government dispensaries and the Sports Authority of India.

India and Sweden had signed a MoU in healthcare and public health in 2009.

"The cooperation has been very positive in all the areas of collaborations like public health and alcohol policy, maternal and child health," a statement said.

The Swedish health minister will also have bilateral meetings with Health Minister J.P. Nadda and Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Sarbananda Sonowal.
