Federer faces Monfils in first singles match of Davis Cup final

Lille, Nov 20 (IANS): World No.2 Roger Federer of Switzerland will take on France's 19th-ranked Gael Monfils while teammate and No.4 Stanislas Wawrinka will face 12-ranked Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the Davis Cup final, to be played here Nov 21-23.

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) Thursday announced the draw for the final that will be staged at the clay surface of the Stade Pierre Mauroy indoor stadium here.

The draw:

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) vs Stan Wawrinka (SUI)

Gael Monfils (FRA) vs Roger Federer (SUI)

Julien Benneteau/Richard Gasquet (FRA) vs Marco Chiudinelli/Michael Lammer (SUI)

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) vs Roger Federer (SUI)
