Technology cannot change voice: Pritam

New Delhi, Nov 18 (IANS): Music composer Pritam, who will be seen judging and mentoring digital reality show "#fame Websinger", says technology can enhance the quality of the song, but not the voice of a singer.

"In today's age with technology there are many ways to enhance the quality of the song, even fine tune the singing but what the singer's voice brings to the song no technology can manage! Each singer comes with their own strengths and differences, which adds to the experience and the song," he said in a statement.

The music director. who has given tracks in films including "Life in a... Metro" and "Jab We Met", is excited to be the judge on the digital reality show.

"I really feel that new singers give songs a freshness on account of their voice, it is amazing how much the texture of their voice brings to a song," he said.

Talking about the concept of the show, he said, "The concept of the competition is to have singers from all across singing my songs, in their own version be it an unplugged version or anything else they are comfortable with and then judging them on how they have drawn on the emotions and the quality of the voice."

A special website will be created for the reality show next year, where the contestants will be judged on their ability to sing. Pritam will be judging the initial round of the competition.
