Mumbai, Oct 31: Prominent Billawa leader, Bharat Bank director and well-known orator M N Suvarna (75) passed away in a private hospital here on Monday, October 30 following a brief illness.

He is survived by wife and four sons. His funeral took place on Monday night in the Parsiwada crematorium in Andheri East.

After higher education, Suvarna had served in top positions with the Shipping Corporation of India for many years. After retirement, he was running a typewriting and coaching institute. He was a resident of Chakala, Andheri East here.

Upon hearing the news of his death, bank dirctors, officials and employees, relatives, acquaintances and well-wishers rushed in large numbers to his residence to pay their final respects.

Many community leaders have condoled his demise.
